More Templates... 5. Jul 2005 @ 18:30
Well, I am still yet to make the parts that are actually going be flying. However when I get the right stuff, making them will be a matter of minutes using the router to copy. I have found a site that offers users a free online based builders log. Here is the link to my site http://websites.expercraft.com/chrism/ , I do not have anything on there yet other a couple of construction entries. Over these past couple days I cut and sanded the Nose rib template and the Alieron template, both came out great. There is a link below to the photos.

Heute Ich gebeldet die Nose rib template und ein Alieron template.

Horizontal Stabilizer Template 30. Mär 2005 @ 13:36
I have to wait till I can afford to buy some DF plywood, but I did find some dense partical board in which I decided to make a template for the horizontal stabilizer ribs. I layed out one and cut it out and drilled it. It came out decent enough but I was not pleased with a certain flat spot near the square cutout for the spar. And I was not that happy with the square cut out, so after lunch I set to making another template. I used the one curve on the old one that was good and traced that and, re-measured for center on the holes, having just made one yesterday it went fast and I am happy with the out come. In the photos, the one on top is the bad one.

Heute Ich gibeldet die template fur die horizontal stabilizer. Ich war nicht erfreut mit die zuerst ein. So Ich gibeldet a zweitens ein. Die zuerst ein is uber die zweiten in die foto.

Making the Rudder Ribs 28. Mär 2005 @ 17:04
I got the rudder ribs cut out today, I tried the first one with the router and a straight bit, I can not see how you can free hand with it, it seems to grab the wood and pull it depending on the grain.

I managed to get them cut very nicely on the scroll saw, it was a little tight on room but I made it work and after they got sanded smooth they came out great.

I looked around and found a 2" hole saw marked the center with a punch and drilled out the pieces with a old 2x4 on so the back didn't get messed up. I'm saving all of the parts that get drilled or cut out to save weight and putting them in a box, I'm curious to see how much weight gets saved.

Heute Ich erhalten die rudder ribs schnitt. Sie kam aus netten on a scroll saw.
